By downloading or using Hanasu, you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable, not to bury you in legalese.

The app and what it does

Hanasu is an iOS application for practicing spoken Japanese grammar. It provides grammar explanations, speaking drills, and speech evaluation across JLPT levels N5 through N1. The free tier includes all N5 and N4 content. Hanasu Pro unlocks N3, N2, and N1 content.

Hanasu Pro — one-time purchase

Hanasu Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase through the Apple App Store. There is no subscription. Purchasing Pro unlocks all current N3, N2, and N1 grammar points and scenarios, plus all future content added to those levels.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase confirmation.
You may restore your purchase on any device using Sign in with Apple.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their standard purchase policies. We are not able to issue refunds directly.

Permitted use

Hanasu and its content — including grammar explanations, scenario text, and audio — are provided for your personal Japanese language study. You may not:

Copy, reproduce, or redistribute app content for commercial purposes
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app's source code
Use the app in any way that violates Apple's App Store guidelines or applicable law

No guarantee of exam outcomes

Hanasu is designed to help you practice speaking Japanese grammar. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Japan Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) or any official testing body. We make no representation that using the app will result in passing any exam.

App availability

We provide Hanasu as-is. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We are not liable for any interruption in service, loss of data, or inability to access content. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain app functionality and notify users of significant changes.

Intellectual property

All content in Hanasu — including grammar content, scenario text, UI design, and the Hanasu name and logo — is owned by us or licensed for use in the app. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to that content beyond personal use within the app.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Hanasu. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
